THOMAS SABO Mercedes AMG driver Gary Paffett further extends his DTM lead
Absolutely sensational! Gary Paffett (THOMAS SABO Mercedes AMG C Coupé) secured his fourth podium position with third place at the fourth race of the DTM (German Touring Car Championship) season in Spielberg (Austria). Over a spectacularly dramatic rollercoaster-like course, front-runner Gary Paffett (MERCEDES) battled it out with Edoardo Mortara (AUDI) and Martin Tomczyk (BMW) – all three putting on a veritable ‘Clash of the Titans’.
With a current lead in the standings of 36 points over second-placed Matthias Ekström (AUDI), the Brit is now confidently leading the German Touring Car Championship pack with an astonishing 83 points. Mercedes-Benz has been able to successfully make its mark vis-à-vis the competition and has occupied the number 1 position in all three overall rankings – Drivers (Gary Paffett), Teams (THOMAS SABO / Mercedes-Benz Bank AMG Team) and Manufacturers – since the very start of the season.
This was the 485th podium position for Mercedes-Benz in the DTM and the fifth for this season.
