THOMAS SABO supports Columbian foundation
Within the context of its in-house Charity Foundation, THOMAS SABO has been supporting MANOS PROVIDENTES, a foundation based in Cali in Columbia, which was set up by the Order of Theatine monks in 1998.
Amidst a community with huge social problems, the monks look after the needs and concerns of local socially-disadvantaged families. The aim of the foundation is to enable comprehensive education for socially-disadvantaged children and youngsters.
The particular focus of the THOMAS SABO initiative – under the auspices of Luz Enith Sabo, who herself was born in Columbia – is on the children’s social interaction and living together.
Above all, sports and music activities are used with the aim of preventing violence, aggression and social isolation. At the foundation, around 1,200 children of various ages are taught and looked after.
The construction of a new children’s home is planned, but requires further support. The THOMAS SABO Foundation is providing long-term support for the order’s projects in the form of cash donations and donations in kind.
