7,000 children in Cartagena, a refuge centre for domestic refugees in Columbia, do not receive any form of school education. The planned school will eventually provide a learning centre for 1,700 children. Thomas Sabo and his wife Luz Enith Sabo, together with the “German-Columbian Circle of Friends”, are the sponsors of the project, with singer Shakira lending her support as the patron. Furthermore, Thomas and Luz Enith Sabo – as partners of Nuremberg’s RTL Children’s House – also helped its “Children of the World” garden project.

This year’s limited bracelet for the RTL Donation Marathon 2012 radiates as cheerfully as a child’s smile. It is a wonderfully colourful composition of red aventurine, tiger’s eye, freshwater pearls and reconstructed turquois. The limited-edition sun Charm pendant symbolises human warmth, optimism and a radiant child’s smile. 100 percent of the proceeds from the 39-euro purchase price will be going to the projects, with the quantity is strictly limited to 4,000.

We help children – join in and help us!

So much has happened since the ground-breaking ceremony in March 2011 and the topping out in July 2011. Topical rooms – including music rooms, gym rooms, theatre rooms, the experiment room and children’s kitchen – have been fully fitted out in accordance with a new educational concept and now offer children from socially-deprived families to develop their talents. On behalf of all employees and project partners, Thomas Sabo is thrilled that the completed house is now open for regular visits from 115 children of 40 different nationalities, helping them to develop their strengths and talents.

As a result of diverse fundraising and donations and the wonderful support from Thomas and Luz-Enith Sabo and countless helpers, THOMAS SABO has been able to furnish the project with around 500,000 euros to date. And Thomas and Luz Enith Sabo will be continuing to accompany the Nuremberg RTL Children’s House as strong partners in the future as well.

The model project of the Rummelsberger Dienste (Rummelsberger services), started by the groundbreaking on 15 March 2011, shows the successful implementation of a partnership network. Its members would like to give children in the south part of the city perspectives for a life without poverty.

In order that a grandiose idea could become reality, Thomas Sabo and his wife Luz Enith Sabo made a personal commitment as part of the RTL Donation Marathon 2011 and through their efforts collected over 500,000 euros, thus laying the foundation stone for this successful project.

While building work is still progressing in the outdoor area, and also on the city play area, the ground floor already offers the children cosiness, warmth and security. The appearance of the rooms is characterised by light wood, developed by the Rummelsberger joinery based on the Würzburger model. The rooms are divided into diffierent areas, intended to encourage the talents of each child through a pedagogically conceived concept.

On 1 March 2012, the centre with 36 nursery and 75 kindergarten places will go into full service.

Last year, company founder Thomas Sabo and his wife Luz-Enith succeeded in bringing this project – part of the RTL Donation Marathon – to THOMAS SABO’s local region. Together with the THOMAS SABO Ice Tigers, around € 500,000 was collected for the construction of the RTL Children’s House through the most diverse donation drives, allowing the laying of the financial foundation stone for this fantastic social project. And so much has happened since then: the ground-breaking ceremony in March 2011 is now being followed by the official topping-out ceremony. As early as November 2011, the first child influenza liaison group will commence its work at the site, with the RTL Children’s House opening its doors to all 110 children from the beginning of next year.

Joining the party were Thomas Sabo and his wife Luz-Enith Sabo, along with Wolfram Kons from the “RTL Foundation – We Help Children”. Together, they are supporting the “RTL Children’s House” project with a total of € 700,000, of which € 500,000 alone was raised by charitable events organised by the couple, the THOMAS SABO employees and the THOMAS SABO IceTigers. The highlight of the charity event was the sale of the limited-edition charity bracelet, which was auctioned off during the RTL Donation Marathon live show in November.

The RTL Children’s House is scheduled to open in September 2011 and will offer 110 children aged between 0 and 6 years space for their needs. And the special feature: the respective talents and strengths of the children will be supported and promoted in individual themed rooms – such as the music room, the studio and the sports room. All rooms are designed in accordance with the “Würzburg Model”, which gives the children what is probably the most important thing of all: security.
